The DIGITTRADE RS256 RFID Security HDD protects your data against unwanted looks – security at home, at the office or during transport.

Thanks to the full disc hardware encryption according to the 256 Bit AES in the XTS-mode and the RFID access control DIGITTRADE RS256 combines the benefits of mobility and data security paired with elegant design.

Encryption
During transfer on the HDD, all data is stored in real-time by a 256 bit full disk encryption according to AES in advanced XTS mode. The XTS mode has an higher level of security than CBC and ECB mode.

The Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) is a symmetrical cryptographic system, approved by USA’s National Security Agency for top secret information.

XTS mode encrypts all sectors with a specified AES key.

Additionally to all stored data, even temporary files as well as areas that would normally not be noticed by encryption software will be encrypted.

Authentication
The user authentication take place by 256 bit RFID access control in AES.

RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification. The encryption order is send to the hard disc by the help of the RFID technology. To obtain access to the data you will need one of the two RFID-Keys you can find in the package.

To lock or unlock the DIGITTRADE RS256 is one thing to do, keep the transponder over the RFID reading device. The active state of the hard disc is show to you via LED.

Silicon protectors are developt to increase the resistence against to concussions and impacts.

Integrated HDD
The implemented 2.5” SATA HDD makes the mobile data safe small and handy. Thanks to data transfer and power supply using USB or FireWire and the hard ware encryption it is possible to use this storage medium independent of an operating system or platform.

Only quality HDDs from Samsung and Western Digital are in use.

Supported Operating Systems
The HDDs are bootable and are independent of any operating system. This allows the users not only to store files and programs on the HDD, but also programs and complete operating systems.
