The Steno-Cassette 30 was developed by Grundig and elevated to the status of DIN 32750-T norm in 1983. It can be used with portable and desktop devices equipped with steno-cassette drives, such as the Stenorette Sh 24 portable dictation device or the Stenorette St 3220 playback station. Its one-sided recording system eliminates the possibility of searching for or deleting data from the wrong side of the tape. Each cassette has a recording capacity of 30 minutes. The Steno-Cassette 30 is equipped with an integrated, to-the-minute band index. This makes the dictation section to be transcribed easy to find.
