The new ThinkPad Dock II is designed to provide easy, one step, desktop expansion convenience and support the latest technologies available on your ThinkPad. The ThinkPad Dock II is a complete desktop expansion alternative supporting pass-through communications connection to RJ11 for modem, and RJ45 for 10/100/1000 Ethernet. Pass-through connection is also supported for serial, parallel, keyboard, mouse, FDD, monitor, 4 USB 2.0 ports via an integrated hub, DVI, line-in, and line-out. ThinkPad Dock II extends the capability of your ThinkPad by providing an additional Ultrabay 2000 device bay for options such as a CD-ROM, DVD, CD-R/W or second HDD and adapter. Two additional PCMCIA Card slots and one half-size PCI slot round out the configuration alternatives available. Each ThinkPad Dock II provides a range of security choices. The ThinkPad notebook can be locked to the Dock II with a key lock. The ThinkPad Dock II can be secured with an optional cable lock. Ultrabay 2000 and PCMCIA devices can be secured with hidden device levers, the key lock or secured with the cable lock. Convenience buttons on the ThinkPad Dock II provide on/off system with switch and one-touch network disconnect. Using an external keyboard, you can control volume even with the ThinkPad closed. All this function, convenience and flexibility come in a sleek, ergonomic docking design especially for your ThinkPad notebook. For USB 2.0 usage USB 2.0 capability is required on the attached ThinkPad system. DVI can also be used if DVI is supported on the attached ThinkPad system.
